She was predeceased by: her parents, Ignazio Conforti and Mary Conforti (Iannazone); and her siblings, Armondo, Osvaldo, Amabile, Pasqualina, Gilda, Elena and Pia (Violet).
She is survived by: her husband Aurelio Portante; her children, Raymond Portante, Robert Portante and Diane Cofone; her grandchildren, Kimberle Portante Nardone (Anthony), Robert Raymond Portante (Crystal), Kellie Anne Cofone and Frank Cofone; and her great grandchildren, Ella Joy Portante, Cameryn Mae Portante and Emelia Grace Nardone.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home (177 NY-59, Suffern, NY 10901). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Margaret's Church (115 W Central Ave, Pearl River, NY 10965).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gemma's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital http://www.stjude.org.
