With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Serafino Michael Angelo Capalbo of Pawling, New York, who passed away on September 6, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Domenco Capalbo and Agnes Capalbo (Taney); his wife Dorothy Betz; his siblings, Ann Dellamonica, Theresa Swalagin, Roland, Dominic, Victor "Vicky" Capalbo, Mike Savario and Howard Loucks; his son-in-law Edd "Doc" Holladay; and his grandson Kyle Holladay.
He is survived by: his children, Guy, Kevin Capalbo of Colorado, Deborah Holladay of Georgia, Stacy Capalbo of Arizona, Mark Capalbo (Michele) of New Jersey, Theresa Capalbo of Pawling, Kathryn Capalbo of Florida and Lawrence Oates of Florida; his grandchildren, Jace Capalbo Park, Amber Capalbo Park, Keith Holladay, Nadine Jones, Marcus, Jordan, Brendan, Morgan Oates, Matt, John Capalbo, Jesse Capalbo, Clay Dorenbacher, Alyssa Reilly and Kristen Capalbo; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Charlotte Jones; and his nephews, Woody Bierle, George and Chuckie Swalagin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home (83 E Main St, Pawling, NY 12564). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Church (39 E Main St, Pawling, NY 12564-1429). A burial was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at the St. John's Cemetery (1 East St, Pawling, NY 12564).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Sy may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
