As Declan departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Declan. Though Declan may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Irish and Elizabeth McGrath (Canning); his sons, Connor (Leighann) of Wappingers Falls, NY and Liam (Brianna) of Stormville, NY; and his brother Kieran (Deborah) of New Milford, CT. He was also cherished by three nephews and three grand-nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, Inc. (692 US-6, Mahopac, NY 10541). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. James the Apostle Church (14 Gleneida Ave, Carmel Hamlet, NY 10512). A burial was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at the St. Lawrence Cemetery (780 NY-22, Brewster, NY 10509).
