He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Joseph and Marie Tafe Searles; and his daughter Maria Searles. He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Umlauft (Thomas) of Patchogue, NY and Gilbert Searles of Fort Montgomery, NY; his brother Richard Searles (Bernie) of Wading River, NY; his grandchildren, Alisha Lategano (Thomas), Bryanna Torino (Ronnie) and Nicole Langley (Josh); his great grandchildren, Richard, Emma Bea, Kallie Ann, Ronald and Maverick; and his close friends, Sabbath, Thumper, Chloe, Gizzy, Asrial, Sheeba, Karma, Toby, Hollie, Raina and Bailey.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Ruland Funeral Home (500 N Ocean Ave, Patchogue, NY 11772). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Sylvesters R. C. Church (68 Ohio Ave, Medford, NY 11763).
