Friedrich Hayer Obituary

Friedrich Hayer, 92, of Parish, New York, passed away in his daughter's home peacefully on June 7, 2022, with family in Wetumpka, Alabama.

He is predeceased by his parents, Nikolaus & Frieda Hayer, his wife Margo Hayer & his granddaughter, Amelia Wade.

He is survived by his sister Nelly (Maximillian) Jaeger, his brother Adalbert Hayer, children Valerie (Eric) Wade, Lori (John) Honan, Jeffrey (Helen) Hayer & Leah (Christopher) Darty, grandchildren Katie Gleason, Sean Honan, Kara Wade, Andrea Hayer, Victoria Taylor & Isabella Taylor, and many cousins and nephews.

He will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery near his hometown of Parish, NY and services will be held at a later date. After studying as a cobbler (shoe making), he moved to the United States from Germany at age 19, and later became a United States citizen. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clay, NY. He raised his family in rural Oswego County and retired as a machinist from Rollway Bearing in Liverpool, NY. He went on to enjoy traveling, golfing, and gardening.

He will be remembered by his outgoing social personality, entertaining others with his life stories, and touching the lives of anyone he met.
