He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Ella Coger Smith; and his significant other Betty Hoyt. He is survived by: his children, Carl Smith (Denise) of Constantia and Lory D'Addario (Peter) of East Haddam, CT.; his nephew Frank Smith (Kathy); his grandchildren, Chad Smith, Sara Smith and Austin D'Addario; his great grandchildren, Carley Jo and Elsa Louise; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Hoyt (Joyce), Lois Delahunt and Nancy Raino.
