He was predeceased by: his parents, Gottlieb "Gus" Kommer and Mildred Hack Kommer. He is survived by: his wife Helen Smith; his children, Kevin Kommer (Molly) and Kathy Courtney (Bill); his granddaughter Alexa (Alexander Goettel); and his stepgrandchildren, Megan Wutzke (Barry), Mark Farrell (Kate) and Timothy Farrell (Laura). He is also survived by 8 step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Macedon Center United Methodist Church (1160 Macedon Center Rd, Macedon, NY 14502).
