He is survived by: his wife Denise VanHout; his son John VanHout, Jr. (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, John VanHout III, Stephanie VanHout, Austin VanHout, Karlie Light (Thomas), David VanHout, Justin VanHout and Kyle VanHout; his great grandchildren, Aliya VanHout Monteiro and Shain T. Light; and his siblings, Gerald VanHout (Charlotte), Donald VanHout (Nancy), Laura Brown (Art), Gloria Spencer, Nancey Blankenberg and Debbie Coomber (Tom). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
