He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Carhart and Ora Carhart; his daughter Kimberly Lillie Carhart; his stepson Andrew Allen Head; his grandson Dylan Allen Demuth; and his siblings, Duane Carhart (Tom), Everett Carhart, Robert Carhart, Doris Carhart, Laura Jean (Dan Downey) and Eleanor Carr (Charlie Carr).
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Ross-Head-Carhart; his former wife Trudy Huggins (Gregg); his children, John Carhart Jr., Chad Carhart (Tabatha), Jaimie Hammond (Jeff), Brandi McEwan (Benedict) and Mallory Bates (Evan); his stepdaughters, Jennifer Brooks and Rebecca Barrows (Joe); his grandchildren, Tyler, Lacey Hammond, Mirrah Stewart, Audrey, Waylon Bates, Lauren Wright, Kaleb, Jonas, Pyper McEwan, Everett Tompkins, Andrea Head, Alexa, James, Braelynn, Lynkon Barrows, Jazmine Brooks (Zak), Carson and Dalton Rider; and his brother-in-law Tim Ross (Mary).
