He was predeceased by: his sister Patricia Melby; and his parents, Lewis J. Melby and Margaret A. Melby (Bedessem). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Melby (Brieske); his children, James Melby (Barbara) and Peggy Medina; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Brooke Melby, Evelyn and Michael Medina; and his siblings, Arthur, Louis (Eileen), Christopher, John Melby, Mary Campbell and Jeanne Schreiter. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
