It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alec J. Pitel of Otego, New York, born in Binghamton, New York, who passed away on September 24, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Pitel and Julia Pitel (Harrison); his niece Elyse Pitel; and his pets, Lady, Bonnie, Eli and Missy.
He is survived by: his son Nicholas; his cousin David Pitel; his wife Judy Pitel (McKown) of Otego; his daughter-in-law Angela; his granddaughters, Alexis and Brooklyn of Lee, MA; his brothers, Michael (Patricia) of Santa Fe, NM, Tom (Olga) of Wayland, MA and Greg (Monica) of Colorado Springs, CO; his nephews, Adam, Douglas and Christian; his niece Julia; his siblings-in-law, Ron McKown of Binghamton, Connie Barnes (McKown) of Sidney, Dennis McKown (Treena) of Sidney, Michael McKown (Leisa) of Norwich, Debbie (McKown), Day (Randy) of Bainbridge, Brian McKown (Martha) of Dothan, AL, Jeff McKown (Kim) of Masonville and Joe McKown (Diane) of Petaluma, CA; and his nieces and nephews, Aric, Aaron, Gabe McKown, Jesse Barnes, Melissa Davis (McKown), Isaac, Brandon, Tim McKown, Justin, Marcie Day, Josh, Travis McKown, Andy, Matt, Steven McKown and Lydia McKown. He is also survived by several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
