He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Ruttan and Lulu Ruttan (Noerr); his wife Mary Jane Ruttan (Mahaney); his grandson Daniel Howard, Jr.; and his siblings, John Ruttan and Beverly Goewey.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Howard (Daniel), Christine Castiglia (Robert), Rebecca James (Michael) and William, Jr. (Elizabeth Bonewicz); his grandchildren, Sarah Morse, Michael Ruttan, Matthew Castiglia, Amanda Ruttan and Evan James; his great grandchildren, Jonathan Morse, Alana Morse and Ellie Martin; his close friend Mary Jane Symborski; and his sister Carol Todd. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
