It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth E. Legates of Oswego, New York, who passed away on March 11, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Foster Nearbin and Rachel Nearbin (Naracon); her husband Ralph Legates; and her daughters, Beverly Wilson and Barbara Hayes (Wilson).
She is survived by: her siblings, Robert, Foster Jr., Kenneth, Rose and Rhea (Cathie); her children, Louella Forbes (Mark) of Oswego, Tanya Wheeler of Oswego and Raymond "Buddy" Wilson (Jessica) of Oswego; her siblings, Richard Nearbin of Fort Plains, NY and Cherie Burridge of Oswego; and her stepchildren, Jeanette Markowski of Sterling, Kathy Crouch of Martville, Ralph Legates, Jr. of Oswego and Scott Legates of Scriba. She is also survived by twenty four grandchildren several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
