He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carolin McKinstry and Nancy Whitlock McKinstry; his brother Richard McKinstry; and his daughter Gretchen Wahrendorf. He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Peg); his children, Robert Carolin McKinstry III (Kelly), Kelli McKinstry Woelfel (Mark), Jennifer Rivera and Trina Helmke (John); his grandchildren, Meagan McKinstry, Katie, Bryan Myers, Chelsea Wahrendorf, Ron McKinstry, Bryan Woelfel, Andrew Mylkes and Caroline Woelfel; his nephews, Rick Pitcher and Matt McKinstry; and his niece Emily McKinstry.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home (112 E 2nd St, Oswego, NY 13126). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Christ the Good Shepherd Church (50 E Mohawk St, Oswego, NY 13126).
