It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catharine Ellen Gilroy Tirrell of Oswego, New York, who passed away on January 31, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Catharine Fredenburg Gilroy and Joseph A. Gilroy; and her brothers, Dennis M Gilroy and Michael S Gilroy. She is survived by: her husband Arthur I. Tirrell of Oswego; her daughter Cayleen Joellen Sawyer (Tirrell); her son-in-law Donald Joseph Sawyer; her grandchildren, Caden Harris, Althea Ellen-Mae and Amelia Robyn Sawyer; and her siblings, Joseph Gilroy (Jean), Kevin Gilroy, Mary Jo Gilroy VanDeventer, Frank Gilroy (Karen) and James Gilroy (Jason Benz).

Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Donations in lieu of flowers may go to Frederick Leighton Elementary School.
