He is survived by: his wife Beverly Mulvaney Gilchrist of Oswego; his sister Mary Atwell of Florida; his daughters, Deborah Weaver (Jim) of Fulton, Donna Gilchrist of North Carolina and Cheryl Williams (Roy) of Florida; and his pet Dryfus. He is also survived by four grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.
