He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thaler and Mildred Thaler (Kingsbury); his grandson Ryan Thaler Roberts; his children, Renee Thaler Wilson and Derek Thaler; and his siblings, Doris Smith (Howard) of Oriskany and Jerry Thaler (Randi).
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Thaler (Kelly) of Oriskany; his daughter Kimberly Roberts (Mark) of Oriskany; his grandchildren, Kyle Wilson, Patrick Roberts and Aolani Roberts; and his siblings, Charles Thaler of Westmoreland, NY, Richard Thaler (Doris) of Vernon, NY, Barry Thaler (Andrea) of Rome, NY and Shirley Chapman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
