He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Trinkaus and Gertrude Trinkaus (Reich); his son Thomas Trinkaus; his son-in-law Terry Balfe; his siblings, Tony (Lillian), Frank (Ella), Stonie (Joan), John (Caroline), Bill (Jeanette) and Anne Slocum (Toby); and his friend Congressmen Sherwood L. Boehlert.
He is survived by: his wife Anna O'Neill; his children, Peg Trinkaus of Oriskany, John Trinkaus (Kimberly) of Marcy, Barb Balfe of Holland Patent, Kevin Trinkaus of Colorado, Danny Trinkaus of Oriskany and Kyle Trinkaus of Colorado; his grandchildren, Brian Balfe (Julie), Krysten Balfe (Chad Armstrong), Michael Balfe (Megan Sterling), Jason Trinkaus (Beth), Daniel Trinkaus, Gregory Trinkaus, Brandi Folts (Rich Martinez), Andrew Trinkaus, Kyle Trinkaus, Thomas Trinkaus, Jordan Freburg and Ryan Trinkaus; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Maggie, Ella, Erin, Molly, Jerimiah, Jasmine, Joviana, Danicia, Michael and Aiden.
