He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley J. Roy; his parents, Timothy Roy, and Flora Roy, Sr.; and his sister Roberta Patterson. He is survived by: his children, Debora Orkin and Thomas Roy (Kim); his grandchildren, Sarah, Jessica, Cynthia and Michael; his great grandchildren, Ashlynn and Brooklyn; and his siblings, Carolyn Waters and Theodore Roy (Beverly).
