She was predeceased by: her child Ryan Hakes; her parents, Thomas Mayer and Marilyn Mayer; and her brother Gary Mayer. She is survived by: her husband Ron Hakes; her daughter Kristy (John "Jack" O'Brien); and her siblings, Tom Mayer (Jane), Jeff Mayer (Kass) and Mary Ann Hyer. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo.
