He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Lisa Crawford (Dave); and his sister Mary Lou Harrigan (late Ted). He is survived by: his wife Eileen Ward (McCracken); his children, Dr. John Ward Jr. (Tendayi), Madonna Giardina (Michael) and Cynthia Samborski (Ed); his daughter-in-law Debra Ward; his grandchildren, Shannon Mensen (Steve), Matthew Pawelski (Brittney), Michael Giardina, Ashley Alba, Katie Ward, Julie Giardina, Nicholas Alba (Katrina), Grace Giardina, Heather Szuc, Lauren Pawlik (Steve), Victoria Waxman (Josh) and Ed Samborski; his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Jesse, Elise, Nathan, David, Nola, Lila and Cru James; and his brother Don Ward (Patricia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the James W. Cannan Funeral Home, Inc. (3155 Orchard Park Rd, Orchard Park, NY 14127). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Nativity of Our Lord Church (26 Thorn Ave, Orchard Park, NY 14127).
