He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley E. Higgins (Wales); and his sister Linda Higgins. He is survived by: his children, Shirley Anne Higgins, James R. Higgins, Jr. (Jennifer), Suzanne M. Deitz (Eric), Colleen L. Young (Lorne), Kathleen E. Fabbro (Peter) and Michael J. Higgins (Kim); and his sister Carol Herlihy (late Jack). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
