He was predeceased by: his son Brian George Kelly; and his parents, Harry Kelly and Mildred Kelly. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Kelly; his children, Melinda Mitchell (Joseph), Eileen Kingston (Lance) and Sean Kelly (Colleen); his grandchildren, Shannon (Nate), Bridget, Megan, Joey, Ryan, Evan, Danny, George, Harry, Patrick and Benjamin; his siblings, Kitty (Orin) and Timothy Kelly (Janice); and his sister-in-law Maureen Alico (Paul). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
