She was predeceased by: her husband Edward C. Smith; her parents, Stewart Shanks and Martha Shanks (Conway); and her siblings, Carol (late James) and Robert Shanks (Susan).
She is survived by: her children, Diane, Carolyn (Patrick), Concannon, Thomas Smith, Patrick and Kelly Derthick (Bruce); her grandchildren, Claire (Michael), William (Jessica), Emma, Martha (Nathan), Jacob, Alyssa, Morgan, Kathleen, Mallory, Lauren and Grace; her great grandchild Evelyn; and her siblings, Jacqueline O'Neill (late Raymond), Paul Shanks (Patricia), Susan Kelley (late James) and Danieu. She is also survived by many nieces and, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice, Buffalo.
