Mark R. Whitaker Obituary

Mark R. Whitaker, 39, of Oneonta, passed away at his home on January 28, 2022. Mark was born on November 22, 1982 in Cooperstown; a son of William "Bill" Whitaker and Patricia (Hadlock) Bazile.

Mark was an easy-going man who could just roll with the punches. He was employed by Applebees in Oneonta as a Line Cook. He loved working there and took his career there very seriously. The staff at Applebees became a part of his family. In his leisure time, Mark enjoyed playing video games and connecting with people around the country while playing. He was an avid WWE enthusiast. Above all else, Mark loved his children.

Mark is survived by his children, William J.W. Whitaker and Savanna Whitaker; father, Bill Whitaker; mother, Patricia (Hadlock) Bazile; brother, Timothy Whitaker; sister, Robin Whitaker-Miller; grandmother, Helen (Robert) White and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He is predeceased by three grandparents.

Family and friends are invited to Visitation Hours at the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home, 60 Broad Street, Morris on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from Noon- 2PM. His funeral will be held at the conclusion of the Calling Hours at the funeral home with Pastor John Buddle of Elm Park United Methodist Church in Oneonta, officiating. His burial and Service of Committal with be held in the Spring of '22 in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Norwich.
