Madeline Shumway Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Madeline Shumway of Oneonta, New York, born in Binghamton, New York, who passed away on December 4, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Wesley Shillington and Dorothy Browning; her husband George Shumway; her children, Gail (Keith Valk), Janis (Chris Murray) and John (Janet Shumway); her daughter-in-law Diane Shumway of South Hampton; her sister Jeri Setaro of Spokane, Washington; her grandchildren, Kaleb Valk (Samona), Justin Valk (Stephanie), Erek Shumway (Marina), Meredith Shumway, Wyatt Shumway, David Shumway, Joshua Shumway, Ryan Corwin (Paige), Shelby Corwin, Dakota Murray and Madison Murray; and her son Richard Shumway. She was also cherished by 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Madeline's memory are asked to be made to the Main Street Baptist Church, 333 Main Street, Oneonta, NY 13820 or the Alzheimer's Association http://www.alz.org.
