David W. Brenner Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David W. Brenner of Oneonta, New York, born in Blooming Grove, New York, who passed away on March 4, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee D. Brenner and Henrietta Brenner (Maxwell); and his siblings, Lee William Brenner, John Michael Brenner, Maryetta DeGeorge, Katherine Feliciano and Nancy Casio.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Brenner of Oneonta; his children, Janice Brenner (Stephen Courter) of Milford, Donald Brenner, Patricia Foland of Raleigh, NC, Douglas Brenner and Kathleen Henderson of Oneonta; his grandchildren, Mariah (Nick Adams), Jaclyn Courter, Luke Courter, Sophie Brenner, Maxwell Brenner and Erickson Brenner; and his siblings, Frances Spicer and Cleo Schacker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

David was recognized for his contributions to education and community by being awarded the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence, SUNY Distinguished Alumni Award, NAACP Oneonta Chapter Thurgood Marshall Unity Award, and with Lois, the Hartwick College Citizen Board Outstanding Citizens Award, plus many other recognition's for service by various organizations.
