He was predeceased by: his father Gary Rutherford; and his pet Cain. He is survived by: his sons, Joshua and Adam Rutherford (Brianna Laing) of Rensselaer, NY; his mother Eleanor Rutherford of Oneonta, NY; his sister Julie Sutton of Afton, NY; his close friend Christine Neuhaus of Oneonta, NY; and his nephew Kevin Sutton of Greenville, NC. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
