He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Henry Thron and Edna Suits Thron Fitzgerald. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Ferlo; his children, Valerie Thron Pollack (Darren) and James Edward Thron (Felicia Cruz); and his grandchildren, Vanessa Loomis, James K. Thron, Aden P. Thron and Destiny Oliver.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
