With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Herbert Howard Hitchings (Oneida, New York), born in Rome, New York, who passed away on November 4, 2019 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hitchings and Mary Sharp Hitchings; his former spouse Marion Seybold; his wife Alice Weinheimer of Pittsburgh, PA; his grandson Jamie Vredenburg; his great grandchild Isabelle Hitchings; and his siblings, Edward, Edison, Peter, Thomas, Cecil, John, Louise Marturano, Elzina Kinnetz and Irene Cronizer.
He is survived by: his son Daniel; his daughter-in-law Colleen Hitchings; his daughter Kathleen; his son-in-law Richard Vredenburg of Sherrill; his sister-in-law Faith Hitchings of Sylvan Beach, NY; and his stepchildren, John Cangilla of Pittsburgh, Sandy Gerner of Pittsburgh and Sherry Cangilla of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by six grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
