He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon D. Hammond and Mildred Elizabeth Hammond; his cousins, Jeff A. (Beth) and Gary P. (Dawn); and his brother Robert.

He is survived by: his wife Fredia A. Crawford; his son William D. (Gina); his grandchildren, Alisha, Laura, Kristina, Christopher, Chenoa, Ryanne, Robert, Dominic, Derek and Elizabeth; and his sister Carole Babbitt. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
