He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hayes and Rosamond Clement Hayes; his wife Joyce Griffith; his son-in-law Mark Bowen; and his brother John Hayes.
He is survived by: his children, Barry Hayes (Phebe) of Niagara Falls, Brett Hayes (Ellen) of Ledyard, CT, Robert Wolfer (Margy) of Randolph, Rebecca "Becky" Dash (Tim) of Franklinville and Rita Lindsay (Malcolm) of Huntersville, NC; and his sister Sallie Territo of Busti, NY. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the donor's fire department or ambulance squad.
