He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry G. Loftus and Elmina Kilburn Loftus; his spouse Arielle Josephine Lounsbury; his brother-in-law Edward Gelen; and his son-in-law Stephen Montgomery.
He is survived by: his daughters, Martha Quigley (Thomas) of Salamanca and Amanda Montgomery (late Stephen) of Mansfield; his grandson Kellen Quigley (Therese Friendhaber) of Olean; and his sister Patricia Gelen of Allegany. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In 2019, Loftus was inducted into the Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to youth sports in the county.
