Lorna J. Thornbury Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 5, 2025, at the age of 82, Lorna J. Thornbury (Olean, New York) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lorna J. Thornbury to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Loran Sandy and Elouise Chaffee Sandy; her husband Paul M. Thornbury; her brothers, John, Glenn and Tom Sandy; and her half-sister Anita Moskos.
She is survived by: her children, Paul H. Thornbury (Soraya Gómez) of Hollywood and Suzy M. Broadbent (George) of Olean, NY.; her grandchildren, Alicia Broadbent of Olean, NY and Dr. Geoffrey P. Broadbent of Washington, DC.; her sister Ariel Molenda; and her cousins, Gerri Stavish, Bobby Haggerty, Jan Haggerty and Amy Borbon.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. - Olean (646 E State St, Olean, NY 14760). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In honor of Lorna's lifelong dedication to nurturing young minds and shaping future generations, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a scholarship fund established in her memory. Contributions may be directed to the Lorna J. Thornbury Memorial Scholarship c/o the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation, 301 N. Union St., Olean, NY 14760.
