He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Taft and Rebecca Bliss Taft; his former wife Violet Rose Atwood; his siblings, Russell R. Taft and Margo Johnson; and his grandchildren, Justin Anthony Mangine and Aunjoni Morgan.
He is survived by: his spouse Beverly K. Schoonover; his sisters, Jocelyn Becker and Mona Seamans; and his stepchildren, Michael Todd Schneider (Brooke) and Brandy Kay Austin (Trevor). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
