He is survived by: his children, Mark T. Carlson of Norfolk, VA and Martha C. Hoge (David) of West Minister; and his grandchildren, James B. Carlson (Ashley), Kelly Barr (Jeremy), Jessica Granados (Gus), Anthony "Trey" Marra (Heather), Kimberly Bartholomew (Joe), Karrie Neely (Ryan), Tristan Wilson (Jeff), Spenser Hoge (Rochelle), Brooke Hoge and Kelsie Hoge (Ignasi Aliguer). He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
