He was predeceased by: his wife Reta; his granddaughter Kristy Danielle Walker; his sister Ollivene; and his brother-in-law Gene Irving. He is survived by: his children, Diane Derx Finch (Eric), Thomas Derx (Cathy), Carol Derx Walker (Bill) and Mary Derx-Robinson; his grandchildren, Sean Finch, Jared Finch (Kaela), Elizabeth Derx Hager (Dan), Matthew Derx (Noelle), Michelle Walker Damiecki (James), Heather Walker Strait (Josh), Justin Walker (Olivia), Heather Anne George, Derrick Robinson and Nicklas Robinson; and his siblings, Mary Barbara Marra (Gene), John Derx (Mert), Kathy Beach (Brad), Ona Lee Hamann (Mel), Archie Derx (Robin) and David Derx.
