He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Benson and Lila Benson Jr. (Cooks); his stepmother Arline Benson; his former wife Corinne Benson (Frentz); his daughter Yvette Matthews; and his brothers, Larry and Jerry Benson.
He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Cecil-Benson; his daughter Yvonne Benson of New Albion; his stepdaughter Leah Meadows of Columbus; and his granddaughters, Jordan and Peyton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
