He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Lewis and Mary Jane Lewis (Craigue); and his grandson Shepard. He is survived by: his wife Kate; his children, William Mellen of Manlius, NY, Christine Morgan (Brian) of Needham, MA, John Mellen (Jennifer) of Mayfield, NY, Sarah Scouten (John) of Port Leyden, NY, Richard Lewis, Jr. (Brittany) of Boonville, NY and Matthew Lewis of Port Leyden, NY; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bella, Gracelin, Tristan, Jackson and Avery; his sisters, Mary Beth Brennan (Timothy) and Mary Ellen Deceglie (Paul); and his mother-in-law Sarah Kelley. He is also survived by his niece and nephews.
