He was predeceased by: his son Richard A. Smith; his son-in-law Garry M. "Bo" Gascon; his brother Murton D. Smith; and his parents, Webster N. Smith and Lucille Smith (Elder).
He is survived by: his wife Sally Ann Smith of Ogdensburg, NY; his children, Suzanne Patterson (Bill) of Ogdensburg, NY, CindyLu Gascon of Ogdensburg, NY and Kristine Hooper (Jeffrey) of Ogdensburg, NY; and his sister Mariel S. Goodwin of Hammond, NY. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
