He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Basta and Anna Mae Basta (Snow); and his siblings, Elizabeth Halpen and Samuel. He is survived by: his wife Jane; his children, Katherine Estes (Donald), Michael, Peter (Katharina) and Anna Marie McDonald (Michael); his siblings, Mary LeClair and Edward; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Myers, Jonah, Emma Basta, Mary Margaret, Rosamond McDonald, Hunter and Casey Estes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frary Funeral Home (515 Caroline St, Ogdensburg, NY 13669). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Cathedral (415 Hamilton St, Ogdensburg, NY 13669). A burial was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at the Notre Dame Cemetery (6088 County Rte 6, Ogdensburg, NY 13669).
