He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine M. Premo; his sister Maureen M. McCarthy; and his parents, Daniel B. McCarthy and Ruth M. McCarthy (Finnegan). He is survived by: his children, Scott (Jeanne), Daniel (Autumn), Michael (Nicole) and Kelly O'Hickey (Ciaran) of Rathcoole, Ireland; his sisters, Mary Jane Lyons of California, Joanne Francher of Camillus, NY and Nancy Gipson of California; and his grandchildren, Morgan, Caitlyn, Conor, Sinead, Liam, Brandon, Michael, Rori, Rowen, Aine, Aisling, Cael, Maddie, Kyra and Isabella. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
