He was predeceased by: his parents, Lammert Oldenhuis and Dirksje of Vries Oldenhuis; his siblings, Jan Oldenhuis (late Hennie) and Marianne Josephson; and his brothers-in-law, George Dotson and Alex Glinski.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Sebura Oldenhuis; his son Dan Oldenhuis (Molly) of Omaha, Nebraska; his siblings, Bert Oldenhuis (Marion) of The Hague, Netherlands, Willem Oldenhuis of Virginia, Corrie Dotson of Texas and Jantina Mann (Ken) of West Virginia; and his brother-in-law Steve Josephson of Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
