We are sad to announce that on December 14, 2024, at the age of 78, John J. Sullivan Jr. of Nyack, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Sullivan (Ferguson) and John Sullivan. He is survived by: his girlfriend Noreen O'Sullivan; his children, John Sullivan of Alexandria, VA, Kathleen Sullivan (Kevin Zadourian) of Wilton, CT, Patrick Sullivan (Melanie) of Valley Cottage, NY, Brendan Sullivan (Danielle) of Arlington, MA and Brian Sullivan of Nyack, NY; the mother of his children Mary Sullivan (Deery); and also, Eden, Fiona, Declan, Eamonn, Tressa, Sophia, Cecilia, Owen, Kellen, Clara and Serafina.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 PM. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ann's Church (16 Jefferson St, Nyack, NY 10960).

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of John are appreciated and may be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

“John was my ‘boss’ for over my first decade at Helen Hayes Hospital where I saw him wear numerous hats. I grew to respect, admire his adaptability & enjoyed getting to know him as a good, kind and clever man. He will always hold a soft spot in my heart for helping me with my own journey, still recalling several very ‘wise’ sayings he left with me. I often felt like I knew his large family (though I don’t recall meeting any) and express my sympathy to them all for their loss.”
