He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Kean Witherell; his parents, Chiara and Mateo; his siblings, Anna Rotelli, Rose Cicaloni, Mary Conway, Jelsumena "Jazz" Cecotti, Clara Valenti, Leonard, Joseph, Matthew and Philip; and his daughter Diane Failing.

He is survived by: his son Ronald D'Auria; his great grandchildren, Christopher, Jaime Failing, Shawn, Robyn Failing, Stephen, Amy Froio, Michael and Amanda D'Amario; his close friend Eileen Colarell; and also John Failing.
