He was predeceased by: his son Joseph L. Miller; his grandchildren, Kassandra Miller, James Miller, Jr., Izayah-Lee Miller and River James; and his sister Maryanne Miller.

He is survived by: his parents, Robert Miller of Degrasse and Shirley Fiacco (Marianne Bauer) of Massena; his former wife Sandra L. LaBaff; his wife Sandy; his children, Benjamin, Jr. Miller (Amanda) of Massena, Corey Miller (Crystal Burdick) of Potsdam, James Miller (Katelynn Job) of Norwood and Nichole McGregor (Thomas, Jr.) of Raymondville; his grandson Wade Miller of Norwood; and his siblings, Kelly Johnson (Ralph) of Madrid, Michael Miller (Sandy), Karen Miller, Randy Miller of Potsdam and Shirley Mitchell. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and nine greatgrandchildren.

A few hours at the family reunion just never seemed enough. I will try to make it for the wake on Friday. but old age and tug hill weather may be the governing factors in my attempt to arrive. .
