He is survived by: his wife Marta Muha Etzl of Norwich; his children, George Julius Etzl of Oneonta and Erika Marta Etzl-Calhoun (Michael) of Norwich; his grandchildren, Abigail Maria Calhoun, Emily Rose Calhoun, Alexander George Etzl, Caitlin Sunshine Etzl and Lucas George Etzl; and his brother Eugene Etzl (Irene) of Bayside, NY..
