He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Andrew Reed and Helen Pauline Stoner Reed; his wife Eleanor Ruth Miller; and his brother Ronald Lewis Reed. He is survived by: his children, Junietta Baker "June" McCall, Charles Warren "Ren" Reed of Gloversville, Kelynne Elizabeth "Kelly" Reed of Sherman, Mary Pauline "Polly" Limbach (Keith Limbach) of Gaithersburg and Helen Joanne "Jody" Curtin (James Curtin) of Palm Bay; his grandsons, Jonathan Seth McCall (Sheri Zacher McCall) of Barrington, Jeremiah Brierly McCall (Olivia Westcott) of Cincinnati, Daniel Warren Clark (Carrie Freeman Clark) of Durham and Matthew Graham Limbach of Gaithersburg; and his sister-in-law Mary Alice Prentice Reed of Albuquerque. He is also survived by six great grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Gloversville Public Library or the First Congregational United Church of Christ Food Pantry (Gloversville).
