He was predeceased by: his wife Irene C. Bentley; his parents, Ervil M. Bentley and Harrient Van Fleet Bentley; and his brothers, Ervil Bentley Jr. and Morris Bentley of Cambridge, NY..

He is survived by: his children, Lorraine Bentley of Gloversville, Bruce Bentley of Mayfield and Mark Bentley (Kathy) of Duluth, GA; his grandchildren, Lindsay Bentley Munro (Simon), Todd Bentley (Sarah), Patrick Bentley, Brian Bentley and Connor Bentley; and his great grandchildren, Alya, Shepherd Munro, Jesse and Michael Bentley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
