He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Merenda and Carmela Merenda; his wife Erma Aschenbrener; his children, Joseph Jr. (Patricia), Stephen (Jeanne), Thomas and Nancy; his grandchildren, Sarah Jean Self (Jonathan), Kaitlin Mackey (Dan'yell) and Matthew Merenda (Antoinette); and his great grandchildren, Logan, Claire, Eli, Caroline, Juliette, Micha, Giannah and Charlotte.
